Directions to MA Center

FROM THE WEST:

For all travelers coming to MA Center using 580 east thru Castro Valley, the Crow Canyon Road exit (off 580 East) is closed for construction (that will result in a new configuration, a full clover leaf at the Redwood Rd BART exit.) Alternative is Redwood Road exit, left on Redwood Rd, right on Castro Valley Blvd, left on Crow Canyon. Go 5 miles and turn left onto the asphalt road and follow our posted signs from there.

FROM THE EAST OR NORTH:
Take I-80 west to 680 south. Take Crow Canyon Rd. exit in San Ramon and go right on Crow Canyon Rd. for 3 miles. Turn right onto the asphalt road.

FROM THE SOUTH:
Go north on 680 to Crow Canyon Rd. exit in San Ramon. Go left on Crow Canyon Rd. for 3 miles. Turn right onto the asphalt road and follow our posted signs from there.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION FROM OAKLAND AND SAN FRANCISCO AIRPORTS: Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) connects at both Oakland and San Francisco airports and the nearest stop to M.A Center is Castro Valley BART Station. From Castro Valley BART, visitors can either look for the frequent informal pick-ups or take a taxi to MA Center (approximately $24). Directions for the taxi drivers who may not know of MA Center: Take Crow Canyon Road, watch for the big red-lettered sign: M.A. Center , 10200 Crow Canyon Road . Turn left and follow the signs over a small bridge and along a gravel road.  

FROM THE CASTRO VALLEY BART:
As you exit the BART station on Norbridge Ave, turn left on Redwood Rd. and then right at your first light which is Castro Valley Blvd. Go through several lights on Castro Valley Blvd., and the first light after Center St. is Crow Canyon Rd. Go left on Crow Canyon Rd. for 5 miles. Turn left into the asphalt road and follow our posted signs from there.

FROM THE MARRIOT:
Go left on Bishop Dr., left on Norris Canyon Rd. over freeway, right on San Ramon Valley Blvd., and left on Crow Canyon Rd. for 3 miles. Turn right onto the asphalt road and follow our posted signs from there.

Shuttles from the Airport:

East Bay Connection provides shuttle services from Oakland and San Francisco and deliver to East Bay. They have excellent door-to-door service. Their contact is:

PARKING AND SHUTTLING INFO (**Important Parking Update)

PARKING

Parking is limited at the MA Center and carpooling is strongly encouraged. At times it may be necessary for cars with fewer than 4 passengers to be re-directed to offsite parking for carpooling/shuttling. Please allow plenty of time for parking.

EVENING PROGRAMS: If you arrive at 7:00 pm or later and do not have 4 passengers in your car, please go directly to the San Ramon Valley Conference Center for carpool/shuttle.  Please see directions below.

DEVI BHAVA: For the Devi Bhava program only cars with 4 or more passengers will be allowed onsite at the MA Center. Please go directly to the San Ramon Valley Conference Center or the Castro Valley BART Station for carpool/shuttle. Parking, carpooling and shuttling starts at 4:00 pm for the Devi Bhava program.

To get a ride back to the Conference Center or BART station, please report to the “Shuttle Shack” near the entrance to the M.A. Center.

Directions to the San Ramon Valley Conference Center:
- From I-680, take the Crow Canyon Road Exit and go East on Crow Canyon Road (turn LEFT if you are coming on I-680 South and RIGHT if you are coming on I-680 North).
- At the 2nd traffic light (Camino Ramon), turn RIGHT.
- Take the FIRST LEFT turn into the parking lot just past Union Bank

Castro Valley BART Parking:
If you do not have four in your car and are coming from the San Francisco/Oakland area, you can look for carpool passengers at the Castro Valley BART station. There will be facilitated carpooling from the BART station for Devi Bhava.

WE MUST HAVE FORMAL REQUESTS in advance for transporting power wheel chairs. They are very large and very heavy. Please call 537-9417 to make arrangements.

RETREAT SHUTTLE SCHEDULE:
Every 30 minutes to and from the Marriott. The drop off and pick up location will be at the valet area at the front of the hotel. (** Please note the change)

Day 1: 4:00pm -- 11:00pm from and to the Marriott
after 11:00p.m. Shuttles are available as needed from the MA Center

Day 2: 8:00am until 11:00pm from and to the Marriott
after 11:00p.m. Shuttles are available as needed from the MA Center

Day 3: 8:00am -- 5:00pm from and to the Marriott every 30 min.
5:00pm -- 11:00pm from and to the Marriott every hour.

SHUTTLE EXPENSES

M. A. Center is trying to cut down on the huge expense of renting shuttle vans and exploring the possibilities for reducing rental van costs. If you are planning on renting a car for your visit during tour, please contact us if you would be interested in helping out Mother's mission to cut costs-- by upgrading to a van that could be used for shuttling. Group deals can be worked out so that the rental for the van would be the same as a car. In return for you driving your van to shuttle people on selected nights you will receive special parking and other privileges.

2. Anthony Chabot Campground: 30 minutes away by car / $15.00 a night. Located in Anthony Chabot Regional Park (in the hills between Oakland and Castro Valley). Reservations can be made from 12 weeks to 24 hours in advance. They have a flier with directions and other details. DEVI BHAVA
We are limited to a total of 900 people in the temple at one time. Your patience and goodwill is needed in order for Mother's visit to proceed smoothly: During Devi Bhava (and possibly some evening programs) we may need to have a system of rotation for entering the Prayer Hall once the maximum capacity has been met.

People waiting outside can go to the enclosed dining hall where Mother can be seen via closed circuit TV on a large screen. During peak times, people who have been in the hall more than an hour are asked to leave the temple for some time.

Those who can are encouraged to come to Devi Bhava later in the evening, preferably after 9 PM. (Because of the limited space,we all need to make an extra effort to be selfless and giving- this is an opportunity to actually live Mother's teachings)
